I played Dradel for the first time in probably eight years today. It was a blast. I love my job at the JCYS (Jewish Community Youth Services); I work with forty of the cutest kids in the world : D
In baseball news, former Cub Bob Howry signed with the San Francisco Giants. Javier Vazquez went to Atlanta where the players play, and the Sox got back Tyler Flowers (a blue chip Catching Prospect) and Brent Lillibridge (a shortstop prospect), along with a couple of lower level prospects. Now that the Braves have Vazquez and are the frontrunners for signing AJ Burnett, could the Cubs still be in position to get Jake Peavy? The Braves certainly aren't going to make a deal with the Padres, now that they traded their best shortstop prospect and would have no one to replace Yunel Escobar if he were traded. I don't want to see the Cubs get Peavy, I want to see them get a solid leadoff hitter who can hit from both sides of the plate *cough*Brian Roberts*cough* If we had Brian Roberts, we could remake our entire lineup. If I were Lou next season, and we had B-Robs, here's what I would do:
1 - Brian Roberts - 2b
2 - Derrek Lee - 1b
3 - Geovanny Soto - C
4 - Aramis Ramirez - 3b
5 - Alfonso Soriano - OF
6 - Mark DeRosa - OF
7 - Ryan Theriot - SS
8 - Reed Johnson/Koske Fukudome - OF
9 - Pitcher
Personally, I think Koske is gonna bounce back next season. He just need to fix some holes in his swing - make it shorter and more compact. If he can bounce back even to a .270 hitter and draw a couple of walks, he would add that LH hitter that we need. What we DONT NEED is some slouch of a free agent like Adam Dunn who can't play defense. People can hate Koske all they want, but you'd be a fool to tell me that he wasn't a good defensive RF. A large part of why we succeeded during the regular season was because of defense and pitching, and we should stick to those values.
Go Cubs Go!
Welcome to Maass Media!
My goal for this blog is to share the music I listen to with as many people as possible. If this is your first time here, all you need to know is that everyday I post good songs from different genres of music. There is a list of genres on the left - clicking on a genre will lead you to a list of songs (with links to hear them) that I have posted on my blog.
Any time you see a portion of text in brown that means it's a link. If you want to leave a comment, click on the comment box at the bottom of the post you want to comment on. Rock on!
