Welcome to Maass Media!

My goal for this blog is to share the music I listen to with as many people as possible.  If this is your first time here, all you need to know is that everyday I post good songs from different genres of music.  There is a list of genres on the left - clicking on a genre will lead you to a list of songs (with links to hear them) that I have posted on my blog.

Any time you see a portion of text in brown that means it's a link.  If you want to leave a comment, click on the comment box at the bottom of the post you want to comment on.  Rock on!

Ryan Kaplan's Daily Dose of Jam

I can't believe I thought I had a music blog. I don't know what it was before, but now it's officially a music blog with my first Umphrey's post. Not only are they the greatest band ever, they're releasing their new album on January 20, 2009, thus making it the BEST DAY EVER.

Here's to you,
Ryan Kaplan, for forcing me to put up some Umphrey's McGee. Here's All in Time from their concert at the Great American Music Hall, 05-08-2005. This is hands down the best I've ever heard (sadly, I only caught the last 5 minutes of the 41min All in Time at Summerfest in '07). If you're new to Umphrey's, here's a quick breakdown of this song
0:00 - 1:08 main theme
1:08 - 2:30 1st verse/chorus
2:45 - 3:30 Ryan (bass) + Andy (percussion) jam
3:30 - 4:15 2nd verse/chorus
4:15 - 6:23 Jake (lead guitar) clean jam (listen to the riff at 5:25)
6:23 - 6:50 Jake + distortion
6:50 - 7:18 3rd verse
7:18 - 9:28 Jake jam (listen to it pick up at 8:35)
9:28 - 11:52 Brendan (lead guitar, vocals) + Jake jam
11:52 - 12:18 main theme
12:18 - 14:12 slow marching music

If you can't tell I
f**kin love this song.

Peace

Oh so my brother gets some love but not me? Harsh dude. I'm home in 2 1/2 weeks and a chill/music session is MANDATORY.
