Welcome to Maass Media!

My goal for this blog is to share the music I listen to with as many people as possible.  If this is your first time here, all you need to know is that everyday I post good songs from different genres of music.  There is a list of genres on the left - clicking on a genre will lead you to a list of songs (with links to hear them) that I have posted on my blog.

Any time you see a portion of text in brown that means it's a link.  If you want to leave a comment, click on the comment box at the bottom of the post you want to comment on.  Rock on!

Sean Cooley's Daily Dose of Jam

DA BEARS
I missed the first 20 seconds of the game. I come back and I was like "Hell yeah! It's about time Hester!" Then I found out Daniel Manning ran it back. Boy did I feel silly. Anyways, I lied. I didn't watch the game. Why? Because it was only available on HDTV. WTF IS THAT? I was happy to hear that we won it in overtime, but it sounded like a pretty messy game. 49.2 passer rating for Kyle Orton.

On a side note, I always wondered how qb ratings were calculated. Grab your Ti 83's, this looks like a doozy.

  • The component for completion percentage, C, is calculated as: {{COMP \over ATT} \times 100 - 30 \over 20}
  • The component for yards per attempt, Y, is calculated as: \left( { YDS \over ATT } - 3 \right) \times { 1 \over 4 }
  • The component for touchdowns per attempt, T, is calculated as: { TD \over ATT }\times 20
  • The component for interceptions per attempt, I, is calculated as: 2.375 - \left( { INT \over ATT } \times 25 \right)

The four components are then added, divided by 6, and multiplied by 100.

In other news, the Cubs gave up on Jake Peavy. That's really dissapointing. Peavy doesn't seem too happy about this either.

For all you Umphrey's McGee fans, I took the time to transpose The Pequod onto piano. I wrote a short intro to it as well. Even if you're not an Umphrey's fan, check it out. The timing was off sometimes, but hey, nobodys perfect.

Holiday hours at Steinmart. Not fun. It used to be fun, especially when Sean Cooley used to work there :\ It was at this time 3 years ago that he first started. Now he's off in New Jersey, chilling in New York during his free time while I'm busy folding towels and helping old women buy antique phones. Oh well. At least my boss is hot :D (totally kidding). Even though it's been a while, I still remember that Sean digs indie rock, so here's Fire Eye'd Boy by Broken Social Scene.

Enjoy!
